(Adds time LaGuardia Airport is expected to reopen in second paragraph.)
Dec. 27 (Bloomberg) -- New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and New Jersey’s Newark Liberty Airport are expected to reopen at 6 p.m. today, the Federal Aviation Administration said on its website.
New York’s LaGuardia Airport is scheduled to resume operations at 4 p.m. after a 12-hour shutdown caused by a snowstorm, according to the FAA. Both Kennedy and Newark closed yesterday.
More than 6,000 flights have been canceled in the region after snowstorms blanketed cities from New York to Boston.
