Many users of Yahoo services are taking notice of their email and other Yahoo products and services not functioning. The servers that Yahoo uses have been suffering from heavy overload starting on Monday.
The services being affected by the server overload are Yahoo mail, Yahoo answers, and Yahoo chat, as well as others. Yahoo answers is rated as the second most popular Q&A site on the internet.
Yahoo plans to lay off several hundred employees in its products division. The layoffs were supposed to come on Tuesday. This is another reason that the services are not working properly. Without the employees to maintain the sites and services they can’t function properly.
There is also news of a scam email going out to Yahoo users. Below is a copy of the scam email. If you receive this, do not respond to it. I have corrected some of the misspellings in the email.
