"The Biggest Loser" winner Patrick House played the game, lost the pounds and became reality TV's latest celebrity, winning $250,000 on Tuesday night after losing more than 45% of his body weight during the show's 10th season.
"I knew he was going to win," trainer Bob Harper said. "I knew it, knew it, knew it." Harper cited Patrick's difficult life situation as an unusually strong motivator to go for the cash prize, Show Tracker reports.
At-home winner Mark Pinkhasovich took home $100,000, having lost more than 50% of his body weight, enough that he'd have been the big winner had Patrick not cast the deciding vote to send him off the ranch in the group's last week on campus.
"Sorry, man, I'm not sure I can beat you," Patrick said presciently to Mark at the time, explaining his decision to eliminate his biggest competition. The previously unemployed father of two will start a new job in January at an academy that helps obese kids address their weight issues.
Between the two top winners, 394 pounds were lost.
